We are currently working on growing our in-house Data Engineering capability, with the focus on personalised recommendation systems that will be served to millions of gamers every day.

Work with super-supportive and open-minded people who contribute daily to the platform used by them, their friends & millions of users each month:

  • Use Python, SQL and Google BigQuery for data analysis, machine learning and backend APIs.
  • Be part of the process “farm-to-table”. Our team works on all components of the system from data preprocessing through model training to delivery.
  • Work on datasets ranging from thousands to billions of records.
  • Experiment with different approaches to solve a problem. While we follow industry standards, we like to try a thing or two that might be considered out of the box.
  • We learn from each other by pair-programming, workshops, presentations, and many other engineers’ initiatives.
  • We use Docker across the pipeline and we are deploying our apps with Kubernetes.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in product discovery phase in order to propose solutions for recommendation systems that answer user & product needs
  • Design architecture and participate in decisions regarding technical stack taking into account business requirements, best practices and market trends
  • Design, implement, enhance and validate appropriate ML algorithms and tools
  • Write well designed, testable, efficient, clean code covered by unit tests by using the best software development practices
  • Build prototypes in the quest of iterating fast
  • Run tests and experiments to validate hypothesis and recommendations performance
  • Work on new projects, from conception to deployment in the production environment
  • Share your knowledge and support others in solving complex challenges
  • Keep abreast of latest developments in the field

Job Requirements:

  • Experience with building and fine-tuning recommendation models; gathering, structuring and analysing data
  • Understanding of data structures, data modelling and software architecture
  • Know-how in using Machine Learning algorithms on large datasets
  • Knowledge of programming language Python
  • Ability to propose, evaluate and implement several solutions for reaching business goals
  • 3+ years of experience delivering data platforms for a product led business
  • Expertise in handling a variety of database types
  • Understanding of SOLID principles and common design patterns
  • Open mind in regards to technology, willingness to venture into new stacks
  • Motivation to thrive in an agile environment, collaborating with peers, Product Managers and other business representatives
  • Strong focus on customer perspective & experience
  • Ability to easily communicate in English

Pluses:

  • Hands-on experience with microservice architecture, projects scalability and performance tuning of web applications
  • Experience with or ability to evaluate out-of-the-box recommendations systems for e-commerce
  • A passion for games and the gaming industry
